Especially awesome is Hopworks two gold medals for Imperial IPA and American amber/red, as well as Cascade taking gold and silver in Wood aged sours; both styles that California breweries garner the most hype over. (russian river and pizza port/lost abbey). Although each picked up a medal in the "belgian style lambic or sour" catagory for similar beers.
I can't help but think if Hair of the Dog entered, we would have done better in the old ale or strong ale category (gold and silver), and it would have been interesting to see double mountain enter some beers to see how they'd fare with their krieks. I'm sure Upright is two new and small to be ready to participate in GABF, but I'm sure they'd have a strong showing in the Saison catagory as well. Maybe in a year or two!
